On November 13th, City Council considered Item IE25.6 – Redesign Study of the Intersection of Allen & Eglinton. During this meeting, Transportation Services presented a supplementary report titled “Additional Recommendations on Traffic By-law Amendments to Reduce Traffic Congestion.”
This supplementary report outlined a series of proposed measures intended to reduce congestion and manage neighbourhood infiltration near Allen & Eglinton, including:
· New turn restrictions on residential streets
· Adjustments to traffic operations surrounding the intersection
· Local street programming changes designed to mitigate cut-through traffic

At the meeting, Councillor Mike Colle, Councillor Josh Matlow and Councillor and Mayoral candidate Brad Bradford made remarks underscoring the urgency and significance of the issues at Allen & Eglinton and acknowledged the long-standing dysfunction at the intersection and the need for meaningful, coordinated action.
